Organized by the Missouri Historical Society, Lewis and Clark – The National Bicentennial Exhibition provides a wealth of information on this topic for educators. The education themes Preparing for the Trip, Politics, Women, Mapping, Animals, Language, Warriors/Soldiers, Trade & Property and Plants help to bring this era alive for you and your students.
The teaching units and lesson plans are broken into Targeted Grade Levels 4 – 12 and focus on Essential Questions, Key Knowledge Objectives, Key Skill Objectives and Formative Assessment Suggestions. Lesson plans and images are printable and in the public domain.
Primary Sources and Images are used throughout the lesson units.
